YEMEN’S AMBASSADOR SUDDENLY, AND ELOQUENTLY, CALLS IT QUITS
As is the case with any good ambassador, Yemen’s Abdulwahab Abdulla al-Hajjri was many things to many people. Veteran diplomat, posted here almost 20 years, most of them as ambassador, with the cred of being related to the now (former) ruling family of Yemen; informed, intellectual, handsome, charming and social....yesterday, unexpectedly, he sent out this email to his Washington friends. It indicates a sudden departure. Because of what it says, and how it is said, it bears being quoted in full.

Are you corrupt or just ignorant? I am stunned and speechless at your useless, insulting article.
You are praising a man who lived the most luxurious of lives while his own people were dying of starvation and women are denied the basics of life's necessities. This man slept with a different woman every week while still being married. Are you that jaded that you have the audacity to praise a man as corrupt as he was? You must be equally or even more corrupt or one of the women who fell for him. UNREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
