Today while walking in Montrose Park I noticed this large tree that had come down. Not sure whether it was in the storm or later, but that root base was huge, way over my head. It counters my theory that only street trees in Georgetown are vulnerable, due to their small root base. This tree, in a park, had as much root area as it wanted. There are some theories that the heavy rain from Sandy made the ground extraordinary soft. Mother Nature.
