A Rare Portrait of Power

You'll read more about the book party for Garrett Graff on New York Social Diary next week, but I couldn't resist an early posting of his this photo. It is of Bob Barnett and Brendan Sullivan. Technically they are lawyers at the firm of Williams & Connolly, but the truth is I'm offering up a rare photo of real Washington power. This is no way dismisses the primacy of presidents and senators and cabinet officials, but nothing quite compares to the enduring "go to" clout of these two individuals.

Also, it was a super duper cool party. The kind this coming weekend dreams about.

THE Q&A CAFE

The Q&A Cafe is now in its 21st year. We launched in October 2001 at Nathans in Georgetown as a response to the September 11 terror attacks, and from that initial purpose grew into a weekly community interview lunch, the first "talk show in a bar." When Nathans closed in 2009 we moved to the Ritz Carlton Hotel and since 2015 our home has been The George Town Club.
