Was escorted around Adams Morgan by Daren Thomas this evening. Need to get over there more often. As a Georgetowner, I leave our borders and suffer envy - for other neighborhoods' restaurants, nightlife. Thank you to a number of spots, including Duplex Diner, JR's, Hank's Oyster Bar, L'Enfant Cafe and La Fourchette, and the shop across the street. Really good fried olives, oysters and lobster roll at Hank's.
But no matter what I ate tonight nothing compares to the peach pie from Red Truck Bakery in Warrenton. I swear. My diet is on the skids with this. But Brian Noyes, RT's baker extraordinaire, brought me one of his peach pies, still warm, and I've been indulging ever since. Bad bad Brian! Good great pie.
Really, its worth the 45 minute drive to downtown Warrenton. Worth it many times over. Trust me on this.
