Celebrating the Sporting Life, on NYSD Today

THE NEW WING OF THE NATIONAL SPORTING LIBRARY AND MUSEUM

This week brings big things out in Middleburg, Va., where the horse country swells will gather on Saturday night to celebrate the expansion and renovation of The National Sporting Library and Museum. I was given an exclusive first look, and took lots of photos for my NYSD column. The NSLM is worth a visit, regardless of whether you've ever been on a horse or hunted dear deer (I think of them as dear) or birds. Lots of art, lots of sculpture, lots of scholarly books. THE Q&A CAFE

The Q&A Cafe is now in its 21st year. We launched in October 2001 at Nathans in Georgetown as a response to the September 11 terror attacks, and from that initial purpose grew into a weekly community interview lunch, the first "talk show in a bar." When Nathans closed in 2009 we moved to the Ritz Carlton Hotel and since 2015 our home has been The George Town Club.
