BRENDAN MARROCCO, IN A PHOTO SHOT BY KEN STEVENS FOR THE MUSKEGON CHRONICLE
Due to the Veterans Day holiday I revisited a story I wrote for New York Social Diary in 2009. It was about Pfc. Brendan Marrocco of Staten Island, who was hit by an explosive device in Iraq on Easter Sunday of that year, losing all four limbs - the first soldier to lose all his limbs and survive. We met at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Yesterday I talked with his father, Alex Marrocco, and got an update, and contributed an item to NYSD. Please read it: Brendan Marrocco. It will start your week off right.
