Partying With The Swells and "Elizabeth the Queen"

Yes, the rich are different, they live in smashing big homes and have the means to throw a lavish party for a friend. That's exactly what Joan and Bernard Carl did this evening for Sally Bedell Smith to celebrate her new book, "Elizabeth the Queen." In the British spirit, the cocktails and canapes were what might be served at Buckingham Palace. I'll have a full report on washingtonian.com on Tuesday, but for now here are some photos:
