Because of "Innocent Spouse," I receive messages from readers who want to share their own stories, many of them more compelling than my own. I'm grateful and welcome them and I always respond.
Here's one I received this week:
Carol,
I wanted to say "Thank You" for sharing your journey. Truly inspiring and so very close to home, for me. I actually came across an article about you, while researching the topic of innocent spouse. While my spouse is alive and well, physically, I have experienced his death, emotionally, time and time again. I was completely blindsided by what he has done. He is a criminal defense attorney. Now it appears he has become one of his clients....I own a spa and skincare company. All of which may be gone soon, due to his "activities" How did I not know or see it coming????!!! I just didn't...I was so busy building my companies and raising our family. I trusted him....
You appear to have found light at the end of the tunnel and this gives me hope that I might as well. I realize I am not the only women to walk this path, but it can certainly feel that way while still in the eye of the storm. Thank you for making it feel less isolating. You are an inspiration!
Warmly,
