This is a sincere apology for not posting more often. There are reasons. Principally is that I work for a corporation and they have rather rigid guidelines for what underlings can/cannot do within the bounds of social media. I get that. If I were a corporate boss I might hand down the same rules to the minions. Therefore, my previous insidery reports, rants and revelations about Washington and how it works, or doesn't, have been sidelined.
You became familiar with me when I was boss of my own business and when I could do and express whatever the hell notion or idea that lit me up -- reporting, writing, hosting my show. Well, now I have bosses. (You could counter that back then I had bosses, too, but they were lawyers, the IRS, the DC govt, and banks.)
The Q&A Cafe is my baby, and I care for it as a mother, and it deserves at least that. In my current mode, as a producer who oversees the guests for Chuck Todd's daily version of Meet the Press, also known as Meet The Press Daily, (live every day at 5pm) I am in a full on and full time gig, and happy with the opportunity. We don't leave our desks for lunch or doctors or to walk around the block, much less zip off to the host venue and produce one's own talk show. Chuck has been exceptionally gracious in urging me to keep up The Q&A Cafe, when I can get away, but at the moment we are one down on the two person booking team, meaning I am solo, and the option of time off is not an option.
What I am asking is please be patient with me. The Q&A Cafe -- the mother of all back room talk shows - will be back on stage soon, and I have some fascinating guests lined up, because that is our mission. As soon as MTP hires another producer to work with me, I will be back in the groove. (And if you know someone who would like to join the MTP team ... send him/her my way, please.) Thank you.
